چکیده
Abstract Enhancing oil recovery in reservoirs with light and high gas content relies on optimizing the miscible water alternating (WAG) injection profile. However, this can be costly time-consuming due to computationally demanding compositional simulation models numerous other well control variables. This study introduces WAG eq , a novel approach that expedites convergence of optimization algorithm for carbonate reservoirs. The leverages production data create flexible solutions maximize net present value (NPV) field, while providing practical implementation individual profiles each injector. utilizes an priority index rank wells determine which should inject or at time interval. is built using parametric equation considers factors such as producer injector relationship, cut ( W CUT ), gas–oil ratio (GOR), cumulative production, induce desirable effects To evaluate ’s effectiveness, two approaches were compared: benchmark solution named bm injected fluid optimized over time, traditional baseline strategy fixed 6-month cycles. procedures applied synthetic case (SEC1_2022) characteristics Brazilian pre-salt field karstic formations CO 2 content. outperformed procedure, improving NPV by 6.7% 511 USD million. Moreover, required fewer simulations (less than 350) (up 2000), delivering slightly higher NPV. terms also found essential producing profile regular patterns injector, resulting more solution. In conclusion, significantly reduces computational requirements creating consistent across injectors, are crucial consider when planning strategy.

متن کاملProduction Optimization in Shale Gas Reservoirs
Natural gas from organic rich shales has become an important part of the supply of natural gas in the United States. Modern drilling and stimulation techniques have increased the potential and profitability of shale gas reserves that earlier were regarded as unprofitable resources of natural gas. The most prominent property of shale gas reservoirs is the low permeability. This is also the reaso...
متن کاملCritical Parameters Affecting Water Alternating Gas (WAG) Injection in an Iranian Fractured Reservoir
Microscopic oil displacement of water flooding and sweep efficiency of continuous gas injection could be improved by water alternating gas (WAG) injection. The WAG injection process aims to squeeze more oil out of the reservoirs; in this method, water and gas are alternatively injected into the reservoir. Also, availability of hydrocarbon or CO2 gases in the field makes it attractive for gas-ba...
